The Pediatric model uses a 1.375-inch diaphragm sized for children, while the Infant model's 1-inch diaphragm is designed for neonates and small infants. That sizing difference matters clinically: accurate chestpiece placement avoids overlapping organs and ensures subtle acoustic findings aren't missed.

Both models deliver dual-sided auscultation, capturing high and low-frequency sounds essential for pediatric cardiac and pulmonary assessment. In mixed pediatric units and family practice settings, having both covered in one instrument removes the need to carry multiple stethoscopes for different age groups.
